Cartier LC Tank

Congrats with the LC Tank.
You bought one of the most important icons in watch history!
I will try to answer some of your questions.

Cartier originally released the Tank LC in 1919 and the watch has
always been in the catalogue since.
Over the years the model has evaluated slightly, different dials, case dimensions and crowns.

The movement used is a, by Cartier reworked calibre 021, that comes from Frederique Piguet.
A company that also supplied Cartier with movements for other models, like the Santos Dumont,
Tortue Quantieme and Tank Americaine XL Chronographe.

Cartier just now introduced a larger model of the famous Tank;
the LC Tank XL with date window and power reserve.

LC Tank XL

LC Tank XL The movement is the new mechanical winding, calibre 9753MC, developed by Cartier.

Valuations are in general not done at the forums;
please use the PM function for that.

...I was lucky enough to see the new LC Tank XL Date/PR in the metal and it is, of course, stunning. Just digging around the net for specific info regarding my version, I came across these vendor pix which seem to match: The seller (and maybe the style of...

No ETA

 By: Geo : April 30th, 2010-09:36
I am almost sure I am right in saying that Cartier did not use ETA movements for their mechanical LC Tanks, at least not for the ones produced between 1985 and Collection PrivĂ©e. Your watch has a Frediric Piguet movement IMHO. It's hard to say for me, whe...

Ahh, OK, Geo--thanks. To me...

...that makes sense. Hopefully the papers turn up and I can post a concrete date of original purchase. Or if I get it serviced I will have my watchmaker note the movement caliber. But this LC Tank with fancy dial and "upgraded" Piguet movement makes sense...

I'll ask the factory for a definite answer on the age and movement inside
