Just picked up this Faber-Castell fountain pen earlier today, and I have to say that I am really pleased with it considering the fairly low $100 price point. What drew me to it is the design and color of the barrel, they refer to it as 'Sky Blue', althoug...  

Did you get it from a specialty boutique?

There's this specialty stationary shop in Westwood, near UCLA called Flax - they have a fairly good assortment of writing and other stationary. I went in to spend a few minutes ogling the merchandise, and this pen was the one that literally caught my eye ... 

The 'Deep Sea Green' ink is not the one I scribbled the few lines of text above - that was done with the default cartridge that came inside the pen itself. I saw a sample of the ink in a book, and it looked like a beautiful combination of blue and green h...

That $5,000 Faber-Castell Samurai pen from five years ago is still vividly in my mind.... Thanks Nico, this one will do everything I could possibly need without being expensive.

Faber Castell piaba. An own creation. Not sky blue or turquoise. That is what i see when i see your very affordable good writing fountain pen. Invent a new color, good to see companies and people do that.

I look forward to seeing the green ink too. I have never tried Faber Castell ink, I tend to use Pilot Iroshizuku or Diamine, both have great colour selections. Happy writing! Jon

I'm definitely curious what the ink will show like in practice. The store had a pretty substantial ink selection from a variety of brands as well....

From my perspective, that's the point of having them, both as a writer, and a reader........

on YouTube, no doubt a really solid ballpoint. I get it, I have my fair share of Pentel ballpoint pens for random writing applications........

That's a particularly good word to describe it with, it was easily one of the most vibrant pens they had on display, and they had quite a few from at least five different brands.... Thanks for looking! Cheers, Filip
