Cartier at the Salon Passion For Watches

Nov 17, 2014,14:25 PM

The Salon Passion For Watches took place at the Cercle de Lorraine in Brussels last week-end. Actually, I was really impressed by the quality of the organization,  the perfect location and by the impressive gathering of brands: GP, JLC, Piaget, IWC, Bell&Ross and so on... and of course Cartier!

It was impossible to miss the Cartier exhibition set up just by the main entrance, in the center of the main place dedicated to the Salon. The Salon gave to Cartier another opportunity to demonstrate its strength and the evolution of its collection. We don't have to forget that step by step, this collection is changing a lot what has an impact on Cartier image which is perceived now as a top and credible player for men's watches. One watch contributed a lot to this change: the Calibre Diver of course which was unveiled at the 2014 SIHH.

Surprisingly enough, the two tones version of this watch is very successful and a lot of clients prefer its subtle charm due to its sober gold bezel and the gold hands. It has a touch of warmth that the pure stainless-steel version maybe doesn't have.

I propose you to browse some wristshots I took during my visit.

The Cartier booth had the best location of the Salon, it was mandatory to walk in front of it!

The display in front of the red wall follows the new architectural trend of the brand: a horizontal display, more practical for the clients which gives a better overview of the collection.

On the left, the screen was displaying the latest Cartier movie.

I'm a proud owner of the Cartier Calibre Diver and I was happy to put again the version with bracelet which is available for several weeks. To be honest with you, I prefer the rubber strap version!

The PG version and its lovely hands:

Of course, it is a less discreet watch than the SS one... but thanks to the elegant and slender case, the PG Diver manages to keep a good balance.

We spoke the last weeks about the new Rotonde "Small Complications". I was happy to put them again on the wrist:

And without any doubt, the Second Timezone Day/Night gets my vote! I like the unsual lay-out of the dial:

The artistic picture of the evening! The Rotonde in front of the Cartier Panther!

I didn't forget some representatives of other lines of the collection like the Ballon Bleu Chronograph. This watch is a kind of ice/fire mix. Why? Because it combines the powerful context of the chronograph with the soft lines of the Ballon Bleu.

The Tank MC Chronograph is a watch which seduced me a lot when it was unveiled. Actually, I much prefer the chronograph version to the "3 hands" one. It features a balanced dial which takes advantage of the case curves. A watch which has more character than expected... especially with this superb slate dial!

The last picture of the evening... still in front of the Cartier movie!

I would like to thank a lot the Cartier team for the warm welcome during the Salon!
