Cartier Tank Louis Cartier XL - just got it!

Mar 28, 2014,03:21 AM

Thanks all for your feedback on my question regarding the mineral glass of the Cartier Tank LC XL.

I love this watch so much that I am willing to forgo my rule of "sapphire glass" only requirement for modern watches.
This watch is so true to the vintage Tanks, has such an eternal classical look and is so thin and elegant that I cannot help but to make it my precioussssssssssss.....

Pls share my joy in my latest acquisition. Presenting my latest watch. My first non-round watch. My first Cartier (my wife has a rose gold diamond ballon bleu but I don't have a Cartier before this). My first ultra thin watch (I have a VC Traditionelle and it's thin but not ultra thin). So many firsts for this watch. smile

Some pictures to share. The pics I took from my smartphone don't do justice to the beauty of this watch.
To me, this is my ultimate dress watch!

Hope you like it too.

cheers
robin

Went shopping for the Cartier with my trusty Montblanc Star Worldtime. Richemont's #1 and #2 side by side.

Resistance is futile. Credit card followed....

Completely in love!

Love the blued hands

Ultra thin side profile at 5.1mm with a natural sapphire.

The Cartier C buckle. Very comfortable on the wrist. Strap is very tight now as it's not seasoned yet but I think the tang buckle is more comfy than
the deployment buckles

I first saw it... well how did I first see it? Oh yes I was initially looking at the new Tank MCs instead. Then spotted this LC and fell in love. Went to do some research and read Fx's reviews. Got poisoned by his pictures. Did more research and got stuck...

that is such a nice watch, congrats!

I always wonder though, how comfortable it is to wear for longer periods - with the case being perfectly flat it tends to lie on top of the wrist rather than hug it. How have you found the wearing experience? Best T

Thanks Tobi!

For your kind words. It is still brand new and the leather is not seasoned to my wrist yet. Still very stiff. I am wearing it very tight for now as I want to season the strap. Yes it sits very flat indeed but so far no discomfort although the lower part o...

I'm looking forward

you have my envy. Still so many temptations as I am saving up for my grail. The Tang looks perfect on your wrist... who knows I might just succumb. Cheers!

Thanks bro!

For your kind words. For now I am taking off a bit from the grails so I can enjoy some "more accessible" watches. I bought a few "grails" last year so need to slow down this year and save up for next grail. Meanwhile, good looking watches at good value wi...

Fantastic, Robin!!

Don't be envious! You have many more fine watches than me :) Thank you for your kind words, I will wear this happily. I wore it yesterday for work and it made me very happy the whole day in the office! cheers robin

This watch is pure class! I find it a bit too large for my taste but what a pleasure when put on the wrist! The handwind Piaget movement is perfect in this context. Congrats! Fx

Thanks Fx!

Yours and Bill's review of this watch influenced me alot to get this beautiful Cartier Tank LC. I am deeply in love with this watch. I also prefer it to be slightly smaller but its size is ok for my small wrist overall. Here's a more recent wristshot! Che...

Well if you need something a little smaller....

then how about the LC XL for your next Cartier? Or if that is too close to what you have, then the one with dark dial: Bill ...

It is also a good option but...
