Cartier amazes once again with the 2011 additions to the Fine Watchmaking line. The Astroregulateur , Calibre de Cartier Astrotourbillon and Crocodile tourbillon have already been premiered here in December 2010. But those three are just the tip of the iceberg. Here is a quick run through of the 2011 Fine Watchmaking novelties.
1. Skeletons: Additions to the highly successful family of skeleton watches that are the definitive Fine Watchmaking models in my opinion.
Pasha Tourbillon skeleton - this is my favourite and it is only 42 mm in diameter
Santos Dumont Skeleton with ADLC coated titanium case - another favourite and I already know of one deposit placed for this watch
2. Calibre de Cartier: Several more Calibre de Cartier models, broadening the line of sporty-look complications.
Calibre de Cartier Dual Time Zone - features a jet lag indicator conceived by Carole Forestier, more on that later
Calibre de Cartier Perpetual Calendar - note the use of the modern font for the calendar indicators
Calibre de Cartier Grande Complication - Renaud et Papi movement
3. Reign of the Pasha: In addition to the tourbillon above, a Tourbillon with chronograph and 8-day power reserve.
Pasha chronograph tourbillon with 8 days power reserve - a very large and imposing watch; Renaud et Papi movement
4. Return to classics: The Tortue perpetual calendar of 2010 is now available with a silver guilloche dial in a return to the iconic Cartier aesthetic. It still retains the two layered dial characteristic of the Fine Watchmaking range however.
There was enough demand for the classic Cartier look at the higher-end of the price range so this is the result
Photos only for now, detailed information and proper photos to come later.
