Cartier Tortue Monopusher Chronograph in White Gold. A Candy.
By: amanico : February 21st, 2015-01:56
The Tortue Monopusher Chronograph certainly was the first Cartier I fell in love with. I well remember where I saw it for the very first time. It was in the Paris Boutique, Rue de la Paix and it was a bit more than 10 years ago. I never forgot it. From ti...
Sweet Tortue chrono....
By: maronetti : February 21st, 2015-04:16
Hi Nicolas, I share your feelings about the Tortue Monopusher. The iteration you showed happens to be the oldest watch in my collection now and survived all the in-and-out-tides of the last 12 years. You will notice the patina, it really had it's share of...
A pleasure to welcome you here!

I didn't know this salmon version! Gorgeous, indeed. No issues with the movement? Very nice watches. Do youn love them so much that you will keep both of them? Best, and thanks for these not so bad wristshots. Nicolas
Keepers...
By: maronetti : February 21st, 2015-04:35
My pleasure, Nicolas.... Never had an issue, in my view a very reliable movement. And yes, both are keepers, they have a very different presence on the wrist due to the very different dial. Will change the strap of one though, the Cartier burgundy is nice...
It's the blue....
By: maronetti : February 21st, 2015-05:11
which I find incredible. As you may expect, also the relationship with this baby had it's weak moments. Is it maybe too small....? But one look at this incredible blue on white contrast always let my mind find peace. I've seen several versions of the dial...
Thanks urinosuke for the wristshots!

And of course, welcome to the Cartier forum! Please don't hesitate to come back with details about your Cartier watches! Thanks for the rare picture of the Tortue 13! We don't see this one very often! Fx
Cartier limited editions
By: maronetti : February 21st, 2015-23:05
My pleasure, Fx. Isn't the Tortue 13 one of the rare cases where Cartier is clear about a limitation? As far as I know they usually don't state this officially. The Tortue MP you showed must've also been a quite limited run but there are no figures. Best,...

Love the strap combo Cool very cool watch Connoisseurs choice Thank you for presenting Damjan
Yes it is a great watch...
By: foversta : February 21st, 2015-13:38
But I have slightly changed my mind when it comes to the case proportions. Actually, I had the chance to discuss with someone involved in the creation of this watch and he regretted that they couldn't reach the conclusion of the concept: a true flat Tortu...
Case proportions
By: maronetti : February 21st, 2015-17:48
I beg to differ on the case proportions. The Tortue MP is one of those watches with a (comparatively) small size which manage to generate great wrist presence. This is (among other factors like the big and gorgeous crown) due to the height of the case whi...
Limited 13
By: maronetti : February 21st, 2015-23:42
Yes Nicolas, only 13 made. Almost doesn't exist....Asked Fx about Cartier limited editions above. I also had the Tank MP WG before (with the same movement), which also was limited, 200, if I remember right. Deep regrets I sold it...at the time I felt the ...
Size difference
By: Geo : February 23rd, 2015-11:26
Size difference between the first (and smaller) edition of the CPCP Tortue MP and the Tank MP. It is interesting that there are hardy any books, that have written about the Tank MP, while the CPCP version of the Tank MP is such a good re issue of the vinta...
Turtles on parade - inspired by Geo
By: maronetti : February 23rd, 2015-16:24
Hi Geo, love your Tank MP in YG. This was a really nice final highlight of the CPCP line. Looks even better than the WG version. Must have been out of my mind when I sold mine though. I HAVE to get it back some day.... Inspired by your Double Wrist here's...

Turtle Summit
By: maronetti : February 24th, 2015-01:51
Thought for a moment that together with Geo´s YG version this thread might gather all the contemporary versions of the Tortue MP. But at least for the YG version there should be more iterations like black dial etc. Would be nice to have all the Tortue MP´...
Platinum?
By: Geo : February 24th, 2015-02:45
As far as I know, there has never been a platinum version of the CPCP Tortue Mono Poussoir. The Tank MP in platinum was at an auction a few months ago, but that was probably a custom order. GEO
